James is a Massachusetts native raised by Portuguese immigrant parents.

He entered the software development industry by combining his experience in the automotive industry with his natural technical abilities.

Upon graduating from Bristol Community College and Wentworth Institute of Technology (Summa Cum Laude) he advanced his current career as a Senior Software Engineer at Optum where he works with a diverse widespread team to develop and deliver high-quality solutions to improve the health care system.

In his personal time, besides spending time with his young family, he enjoys mentoring and sharing his experiences with aspiring engineers.
